Types of Card Games
There are several kinds of card games which include the card exchange games, shedding or accumulating games, trick taking games, casino games, patience games, and collectible card games. The kind of card game depends on the total number of players and their interest. They are also classified in accordance to the skill of the players, rules of the game and the time required for each game.
Trick Taking Games
Trick taking card games are those with different play structures. This would include games such as euchre, hearts, pinochle, piquet, whist and bridge. These games involve tricks and every player puts one card during each trick. The trick games are also further classified into three categories such as positive trick games, exact prediction trick games and final trick taking games. Except the positive trick taking games, the players need to play tricks on a contract with the other kinds of trick games.
Card Exchange Games
The ‘card exchange’ games include card passing games and rummy games. The purpose here is to collect a combination of card games.
Patience Games
These games are usually single player and call for a lot of patience. Here the player moves the cards in accordance to the specific rules. All kinds of solitaire games are single player patience games and the different types of solitaire games are free cell, ace of pile and concentration.
Casino Games
There are beatable and unbeatable kinds of casino games. The beatable games consist of poker games, video poker games and blackjack. The unbeatable casino games include keno, roulette 3-card poker and baccarat.
Shedding Games
The purpose of a shedding game is to dispose of all the cards as soon as possible. The shedding games include speed, Uno and crazy eights. On the other hand, the accumulation games involve accumulating as many cards as possible.
