Gambling Superstitions
Gamblers are known to be the most superstitious people in the world and they would try and do anything to improve their winning chances. Whether it involves performing a specific ritual or carrying a lucky charm during their gambling sessions, they would try and do several things in order to influence lady luck. Psychologists have performed several studies to study the relationship between superstitions and gambling.
Scientists have confirmed that a lot of gamblers develop superstitions during their gaming sessions. If the player wins, then he looks at what transpired the win. This is exactly where the player decides that an activity or clothing or an article was responsible for their fortune. If the player loses on the other hand, he would look back and see what caused a misfortune. Sometimes, the players also accuse the dealer of being unbeatable or unlucky.
Not all of the superstitions are developed by personal observations and a lot of gamblers just buy into the beliefs that have been existent over the years. We have tried to incorporate some of the popular beliefs followed by gamblers all across the world. A few players believe that it is unlucky to sit with your legs crossed in the poker tournaments.
A majority of the gamblers feel that it is unlucky to enter the casino through the main entrance. On the other hand, there is a belief that $50 notes are unlucky for gambling and hence they wouldn’t accept their winnings or stakes with a $50 bill. The same thing applies to $2 bills, since they are known to bring misfortune to the players.
One of the common beliefs is to never count your money while playing. Singing or whistling during the game is also thought to bring bad luck by a lot of players. An Asian gambling superstition is to wear red clothing while gambling and there are several players who sport a certain look or their favourite colour while placing bets.

As I walk into actual casino, I saw a gambler who blows on the dice before throwing it, while for online casino, I saw a friend of mine crossing her fingers while gambling online.
